SIGLA VISIONING WORKSHOP AND TEAMBUILDING ACTIVITY

On June 27, 2023, the E. Zobel Foundation, Inc. (EZF) conducted a Visioning Workshop and Team Building Activity for the Samahan ng mga Inang Gabay at Lakas ng Aktibong Komunidad (SIGLA) members. This program aimed at creating a shared vision among the members of SIGLA and fostering harmony within the organization and eventually, within the community.

Facilitated by the Foundation’s new Executive Director, Mr. Paulino Buenconsejo, this activity was attended by thirteen SIGLA members and was assisted by EZF staff.

The members were articulated that they want their organization as:

“Samahan ng mga inang gumagawa ng masustansyang produkto para sa kalusugan ng mga bata at ina na naglalayong magbigay ng dagdag kita at dagdag kaalaman para sa kababaihan.”

English Translation:
"Association of mothers in Calatagan, Batangas that produces nutritious products for the health of children and mothers that aims to provide additional income and additional knowledge for women."

This unified vision among the members shall help galvanize and motivate the members toward a clearer direction as an organization.

Established in 2019, SIGLA is a community organization composed of financially challenged mothers from a rural, poor community of sugar farmers in Brgy. Real, Calatagan, Batangas. It produces two kinds of products: SIGLA Food Blend and SIGLA Crunchies.

SIGLA Food Blend is a low-cost, flour-like mixture of rice, mongo beans, and sesame seeds. It is high in energy, protein, and carbohydrates needed for optimum growth and supply of energy for children that will sustain their daily activities. It is highly recommended to use as supplementary food for children 7 months to 12 years particularly those who are undernourished.

On the other hand, SIGLA Crunchies is a nutritious snack made up of ground rice and mongo. The rice and mongo-based commodities are rich in energy and protein. It comes in two flavours: cheese and barbeque. These flavors are popular with kids. It can be a great substitute for the other chips since it is naturally made up of rice and mongo with no preservatives.
