All the artworks of the participants were mounted to an exhibit that happened at the ENZOTech Cafeteria last December 17, 2021 with Ms. Mercedes Zobel, the Chairperson of the Foundation gracing the event.

The activity caught the attention of art enthusiasts and made sales during the Painting Exhibition with the title and theme: Sining at Pandemya: Art as a Form of Inspiration in Sparking Hope in the Midst of Pandemic.” The painting exhibition serves as the culminating event of the Foundation for 2021 and it provided rising Calatagueño artists to be gathered together in creating their masterpieces to spark inspiration to the community. By means of art, the artists were given the opportunity to amplify their voices and express their creativity through their artworks.

Virtual Lecture Series 2021

Taking advantage of technology, the Foundation organized a virtual lecture session focused on the topic “Saan Nagmula Ang Pangalan ng mga Barangay sa Calatagan?” launched via Facebook live and attended by students, teachers, local government employees and officials, and other local residents. The video and posters we shared online reached an almost 27K audience. Ms. Thessa Hernandez, one of the public high school teachers from Calatagan shared the results of her research study as part of her doctoral degree requirement. Based on her sharing, the names of each barangay originated and came from four major categories: Likas na Yaman/ Kapaligiran, Kuwentong Bayan, Pangalan ng Tao at Kilos o Aksyon ng Tao.

Of the 25 barangays in Calatagan, 14 barangays derived its names from the likas na yaman at kapaligiran, while 5 barangays derived their community’s name from Kilos o Aksyon ng Tao and the rest were from the last 2 categories. Although the session was done virtually, ENZOTech teachers were encouraged to participate physically in the event and attend wearing Filipiana or Filipino attire during the lecture series session as it coincided also with the Buwan ng Wika celebration. A special token was awarded to the teacher who best represented authentic Pinoy attire.
